Scott Craven Mentoring Program provides support for military kids who have a deployed parent through mentors from Moody AFB. We know it is not just the service member who serves, but it is the entire family. Each Thursday morning, students and mentors are provided Chick-fil-A breakfast and engage in crafts, games, and holiday parties. While in the group, the students meet other military kids going through the same challenges they are and we have a school counselor on hand at every breakfast. When the child’s parent returns home, a “doughnut ceremony” is enjoyed with the returning parent and all members of the program. We have had a Gold Star family and that student was an honorary member until she went on to the middle school. At the end of the school year, every student is invited on a field trip for a day at Moody AFB where fun activities and lunch are planned for everyone. We at Sallas Mahone are thinking of you and your service member and wishing you all the best! We appreciate all you and your family are doing for our country!
